Amaravati was founded in accordance with the ap Bifurcation Act 2014, the indian government has reaffirmed, and it serves as the seat of government for Andhra Pradesh. vijayasai reddy, a member of the ycp in the Rajya Sabha, asked about the capital city controversy, to which Union minister Nityananda Rai responded.

"In accordance with Sections 5 and 6 of the ap Bifurcation Act, a committee of specialists was established to investigate the viability of establishing a capital city. amaravati was designated as the capital city following extensive investigation and evaluation of the experts committee's recommendations. Following the introduction of the capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) Act, the Union home Ministry was informed.

The minister also stated that in 2020, the ap administration suggested "Three Capitals" in place of the CRDA Act. However, these rulings were overruled, and the CRDA Act is still in effect. The Three Capitals Bill was dropped, but the CRDA Act is still in force, the minister was informed. However, the home Ministry advised the parliament that nothing further needed to be added because the capital dispute is now being heard by the supreme Court.

It's intriguing since ycp MP vijayasai reddy brought up the capital dispute just days after chief minister Jagan declared vizag to be the new capital of andhra pradesh and indicated that he would soon move to the beach city. It appears that YCP's position on capital is unclear, and the party or government urgently needs to adopt a position. Although the ycp government is keeping quiet about it, a new "Three Capitals" Bill is anticipated to be presented in the upcoming budget sessions.
