With the recommendation of the Ministry of health and Family Welfare, the government of india has been intensifying preventive and precautionary measures to control diseases in the days before and after the onset of the monsoon season every year.
Population affected by dengue fever:
The puducherry government is taking several measures to prevent the spread of diseases like malaria, dengue, chikungunya, Japanese encephalitis, and elephant foot disease through the National Mosquito and Insect-Borne Disease Program under the health Department. Last year, 1,673 people were affected by dengue fever. About 500 people have been affected by dengue fever this year. Due to the curfew due to the corona pandemic, the spread of monsoon fever was less in the last 2 years due to the reduced movement of people.
