On Tuesday, a two-judge bench led by Chief Justice Alok Aradhe and Justice Anil Kumar Jukanti heard a batch of PILs regarding the destruction of the Osmania government Hospital. The Osmania Medical college Alumni Association and three physicians filed the public interest lawsuit action, seeking directives from the state to construct a new multi-story facility to house the OGH and super-specialty hospital services.

While another PIL was filed to safeguard the 100-year-old structure, the petitioners' attorney expressed objections, noting that they opposed the decision to demolish such historic heritage sites. The petitioner further stated that the issue should be handled separately since it involves the preservation of the OGH.

The Advocate General, on the other hand, contended that the report on the status of the OGH had been filed and that there was a need to construct a new building because the current hospital could only accommodate 1000 beds, whereas 1800 or more beds were required, as well as many other infrastructural additions. According to the Advocate General, even the expert committee's report concluded that the present OGH was unfit for continuous operation.

After hearing both sides, the bench determined that both cases will be heard definitively on february 12.
