Most routes in portions of the Old City have already become congested with increased motor traffic in recent years. The road widening will not only assist commuters to move more smoothly, but it will also provide more choices for those looking to escape traffic jams in Yakutpura.

To relieve traffic, the ghmc began road widening work on the Dabeerpura-Yakutpura route. The demolition process began, and up to 24 homeowners were compensated. On Monday, Yakutpura mla Jaffar Hussain Meraj, corporator Alamdar Walajahi, and zonal authorities from ghmc charminar examined the works. According to the mla, "The compensation cheques were handed over to the house owners, and the road widening works were taken up." Another large road widening project has been approved in the Yakutpura constituency, from Dhobighat in Madannapet via Rein Bazar to Yakutpura railway station, with the acquisition of 361 properties on both sides of the road, according to Mohammed Muzaffar Hussain, Santosh nagar division corporation.

Another road project is the expansion of Bada Bazar in Yakutpura via Talabkatta to Bhavani nagar police station. "149 properties were bought for the works. In all projects, the roads were marked, notices were sent to the property owners, and the construction will begin shortly," Muzaffar remarked. These routes are narrow and have seen significant traffic congestion. The route will connect the communities of Santosh nagar, Madannapet, Rein Bazar, and Yakutpura.

According to ghmc authorities, various road widening projects are now underway in the city's southern region. Around 20 roads have been expanded in recent years, with many more under construction in the Chandrayangutta, charminar, and Yakutpura constituencies during the previous two years. Road widening works are underway in numerous neighborhoods in the Old City, including Himmatpura to Fateh Darwaza via Dhoodh Bowli in the charminar constituency, which is one of the biggest road widenings including the purchase of 370 houses.
