A combined Bharat Bandh appeal has been issued by the Samyukat Kisan Morcha (SKM) and the Kisan Mazdoor Morcha on february 16. This comes amid ongoing farmer protests for laws about minimum support prices (MSPs) and agricultural reforms. The announcement of the bandh follows the use of tear gas by haryana police to scatter farmers protesting their march from punjab to the nation's capital, Delhi, at the State boundary close to Ambala.

What is Shut and What is Not?
In support of the protesting farmers, several public and private offices, shops, and rural businesses nationwide may remain closed on Friday. Other potential closures include those related to agriculture, the mahatma gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MNREGA), rural works, rural industries, and service sector institutions.

Emergency services, including ambulances, pharmacies, schools, and other educational facilities, will, however, continue to operate normally on Friday. friday is also slated for routine business as usual at banks, which are confirmed to run according to regular schedules by the Reserve bank of India's holiday matrix.

The Bandh call comes in the wake of haryana police using tear gas at the State border near Ambala in order to disperse the protesting farmers marching from punjab to the national capital, Delhi.
