After the bjp claimed that the video, which purportedly showed Union home minister amit shah vowing to do away with reservations for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, was phoney, the delhi Police on sunday filed a formal complaint over a "doctored video" of the politician.
 
The bjp claimed that the video was altered to fraudulently portray the Union home minister supporting the elimination of Muslim reservation at a recent lok sabha election rally. The original video showed amit shah talking about eliminating Telangana's 4% "unconstitutional" reservation for Muslims.
 
In response to the allegations, the delhi Police wrote to facebook and X to request details regarding the account that uploaded the modified video. 

The video was circulated on social media by a number of accounts, including state-level congress accounts, with the assertion that the bjp was getting ready to eliminate SC/ST reservations.
 
"Amit Shah's election speech went viral in which he said that if the bjp government is formed again, OBC and SC/ST reservation will be abolished," the jharkhand congress tweeted in one such post on Sunday.
 
The congress is "spreading an edited video, which is completely fake and has the potential to cause large-scale violence," according to accusations made by bjp leader amit Malviya on Saturday. home minister amit shah discussed eliminating the unlawful religious reservation granted to Muslims following the reduction of the proportion of SCs/STs and OBCs. Several congressional spokespersons have posted this fictitious video. They need to be ready for possible legal repercussions.
 
India Herald was informed by a top bjp leader that "we are receiving complaints from different parts of the country, and we will ensure that FIRs are filed in all these complaints".
