MK stalin, the chief minister of tamil Nadu, sharpened the political lines by declaring that no power from delhi could ever rule the southern state. This might be interpreted as an explicit challenge to the bharatiya janata party (BJP). Ahead of the 2026 assembly elections, the bjp and its erstwhile ally AIADMK have reconnected, making the Chief Minister's remarks significant.

Stalin criticized Union minister amit Shah's recent assertion that the coalition would form the tamil Nadu government in 2026 while speaking at a public event in the Thiruvallur district.  "I challenge him: tamil Nadu will never yield before delhi," stalin stated.  "Not just amit shah, no Shah can rule tamil Nadu."

Stalin cautioned, "The raid and party-breaking formula will not work in tamil Nadu," dismissing the BJP's typical tactics. "Don't deceive yourself," he urged, adding, "we will remove all the legal obstacles you create. The Dravidian type of governance will return in 2026.

Stalin emphasized that tamil Nadu has long resisted attempts at central control, framing his address as a defense of the state's political independence and dignity.  "Tamil Nadu is always out of control of delhi," he said.  "We are not enslaved to submit.  Your schemes will fail as long as Muthuvel karunanidhi stalin is alive.

Prime minister Narendra Modi's recent remarks regarding the state obtaining central subsidies were also criticized by the chief minister. "Prime minister Modi came to tamil Nadu but said we keep crying no matter how much funds we get," stalin stated. "I humbly want to remind him: Wasn't it you who once asked if states are beggars to extend their arms and beg before the Union government?"

"What we ask are not cries but the rights of tamil Nadu," added Stalin. "I will not cry or crawl before anyone to get a seat."

The chief minister of tamil Nadu did not mince words when criticizing the BJP's record on respect for the state's citizens and tamil identity.  "Didn't dharmendra pradhan call Thamizhar (Tamil people) 'uncivilised' and later apologise?" said the man.  "Before that, another Union minister claimed tamil people were involved in bomb blasts and had to apologise ."

He also recalled an episode in which VK Pandian, an IAS close to Biju Janata Dal chief naveen Patnaik, was allegedly the target of derogatory remarks from bjp politicians. Pandian was born in tamil Nadu.  "You used the phrase 'divide and rule' to ask how a Thamizhar, who was with naveen Patnaik, could rule Odisha. Here, this won't work.

"You want to reign by allying with traitors and those who lack self-respect.  Go through the past.  Our country is full with pride, courage, and self-respect.  Stalin declared, "We never permitted such operations at any time."

"Can you win by threatening someone here and forming alliances?" stalin said, reaffirming his conviction.  Bring as many people as you like. Let's see.
