In Etawah, Uttar Pradesh, a 33-year-old engineer committed suicide after accusing his wife and in-laws of harassment. Mohit Yadav made a video in which he claimed that his in-laws had threatened him and made up cases against him. In the video, he stated, "Throw my ashes into the drain if I don't get justice even after my death."

On Thursday, Yadav had checked into the Jolly Hotel, which is located outside the Etawah train station.  The following morning, he remained in his room. According to Superintendent of police (City) Abhay Nath Tripathi, the hotel workers discovered him hanging in the evening.

Yadav was a cement business field engineer who lived in the Auraiya district.  After they were married in 2023, he and priya dated for seven years.

In a video, Yadav claimed that Priya's mother forced her to abort the kid while she was pregnant and had landed a private teaching position in bihar two months prior.  He asserted that his mother-in-law likewise carried all of her jewelry.  He claimed that although his wife threatened to make false accusations against every member of his family, he had no demands for a dowry when they were married.

"My wife threatened to get my family into a dowry case if I didn't register my home and belongings in her name. In the video, he stated, "Her brother threatened to kill me after her father, Manoj Kumar, filed a false complaint." He asserted that his wife's relatives had been supporting her ever since they began arguing daily.

Yadav apologized to his parents at the end of the video and asked them to dispose of his ashes in the trash if he doesn't receive justice after his passing.

He also considered the lack of legislation to shield men from fictitious complaints made by women.  "I'll be gone from this earth by the time you see this video.  If it were a law for guys, I wouldn't have done this.  In the video, he claimed, "I couldn't stand my wife and her family harassing me."

According to his brother Tareen Pratap, Yadav had left for Kota but stopped in Etawah. On friday morning, the family was astonished to see his footage on their phones.

We're waiting on priya Yadav and her family to comment.

The event contributes to the rising call for legislation that shields males from unfounded accusations made by women.  Men's rights groups were alarmed by a series of similar occurrences that had occurred since the suicide of Atul Subhash, a techie in Bengaluru who claimed that his wife had falsely accused him of crimes.
