pakistan has rejected the repatriation of its own citizens from india, resulting in a significant diplomatic impasse at the Attari-Wagah border. pakistan has been closing its receiving desks since 8:00 am today, according to indian immigration officials, leaving dozens of Pakistani nationals trapped at the border.

According to sources, Pakistani people, especially women, children, and the elderly, are currently in a state of uncertainty with no food, shelter, or information about their status. Concerns over the Pakistani side's abrupt and inexplicable rejection have led to increased security at the Attari post.

Social media users have responded sharply to the episode, with many seeing it as a humiliation for Pakistan.

Until further notice, the indian government has let Pakistani people to return home across the Attari-Wagah border, in contrast to Pakistan's position.  The Ministry of home Affairs' most recent decree amends its previous directive, which called for the border to be closed starting on april 30.

On the last day of the previous deadline, which was set in the wake of the devastating terror assault in pahalgam on april 22 that took 26 lives, hundreds of Pakistani nationals had crossed over, for those who were unaware. India's aggressive response to the attack, which was widely denounced as a cross-border act of terror, included the wholesale cancellation of visas for Pakistani nationals.

Nearly 800 Pakistani citizens, including 55 ambassadors and their support staff, left india via the Attari-Wagah border within a week after the Center's direction.  In the meantime, almost 1,500 indian nationals returned from Pakistan.

Union home minister amit shah met all state chief ministers last week to implement the government's mandate at a high level. He gave them instructions to make sure that no Pakistani national stayed past the deadlines.
