On May 18, 2025, the indian space research organisation (ISRO) faced a setback throughout its one hundred and first undertaking while the release of the Earth observation satellite EOS-09 aboard the PSLV-C61 rocket was unsuccessful. The project, which lifted off at 5:59 AM IST from the satish dhawan space centre in Sriharikota, proceeded nominally through the first two tiers. But an anomaly becomes determined all through the third stage, leading to the assignment's failure.
ISRO Chairman V. Narayanan addressed the problem in a published release declaration, saying, "The PSLV is a four-stage automobile. Up to the second one-stage, the overall performance was pretty ordinary. The 1/3 level motor began perfectly; however, during the functioning of the 0.33 stage, we are seeing a statement, and the project couldn't be finished."
The EOS-09 satellite tv for PC, weighing about 1,696 kg, was meant to decorate India's surveillance and remote sensing competencies, especially in monitoring borders and coasts. Despite the venture's failure, isro has initiated a detailed technical analysis to investigate the cause of the anomaly and plans to offer similar updates after a radical investigation.
This incident marks an unprecedented release failure for isro, which is known for its excessive success fee in area missions.
