According to local doctors, there is a minor increase in COVID-19 cases in mumbai as well as in international hotspots like singapore and Hong Kong. Medical professionals have reassured the public, meanwhile, that the instances that have been reported thus far are not severe and are not comparable to the devastating waves that swept the globe between 2020 and 2022. With just 93 active cases as of right now, India's situation is far from dire on a national scale, according to the Union health Ministry's Covid dashboard.

No cause for Major concern
There is now no reason for fear, according to Dr. daksha Shah, executive health officer at the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).  "We do see seven or nine odd cases every month, as the Covid-causing coronavirus has become endemic in the country," she stated, according to a Times of india source.  However, the public health division of the BMC has advised physicians to exercise caution, particularly when assessing cases including fever.

On Saturday, Dr. hemant Thacker of Breach Candy Hospital revealed two new patients who tested positive with COVID-19.  One of them was suffering from a serious throat infection and a chronic cough after returning from London.  The second patient had no recent travel history and tested positive.

Additionally, Dr. Pratit Samdani acknowledged that he has recently treated more than six instances with Covid.  "Most of them initially seemed like common flu cases, but the tests confirmed Covid," he stated to TOI.  Notably, the majority of those afflicted were young and did not belong to the old population, which is generally more susceptible to serious virus-related illness.

The situation seems more dire on a global scale. According to Singapore's health ministry, the number of estimated Covid cases increased by 28% to 14,200 during the first week of May.  Over the same time period, hospital admissions have also increased by 30%.  Indian physicians insist that there is no need for alarm in spite of these figures.  Over time, the indian populace has developed a high degree of immunity against the virus, according to Dr. Thacker.
