Researchers say that a solar storm that erupted from the sun is about to hit Earth, and due to this, all electrical devices, from power outages to GPS, will be affected. The sun's magnetic field changes every 11 years. During this change, a solar storm will form. These storms are very dangerous for the Earth. Such a storm formed on May 14. It is stronger than other storms. Scientists have named it X2.7. It is also called the bird's wing because it looks like a bird's wing. On May 14, when this storm formed, temporary radio communication was cut off in some parts of Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. This outage lasted for 10 minutes.
Well, you might think it was just 10 minutes. Today, all nuclear power plants around the world are operated by computers. If these electrical devices fail for 10 minutes, there is a chance of disaster in the nuclear power plants. At the same time, precision is important in operations such as rocket launches. If the connection between the Earth and the rocket is cut off for 10 minutes, the rocket launch will definitely fail.

A more dangerous thing is air travel. GPS devices play an important role in flights. Where are the planes? Where should they go? What is the distance to the nearest planes? Where should they land? All these things depend on these GPS devices. In this case, if GPS fails, there is a high chance of plane accidents. If these types of storms affect satellites, they can become inoperable and enter the Earth's atmosphere, and even fall on our heads. Scientists have classified solar storms as A, B, C, M, and X. Storms from A to C do not cause much damage. They come and go without warning. M-type storms cause moderate damage. The last X-type storms can cause severe damage.

Realizing this, nasa has conducted a space weather emergency exercise to prepare for solar storms and deal with the damage caused by them. Since these storms can affect the Earth's magnetosphere, there is a possibility that the Earth will face a disaster in the future.
