A metallic sphere that dropped from the sky over the western Colombian town of Buga has aroused a lot of interest, leading to assertions and conjectures about its extraterrestrial origins.

According to reports, the object weights about 4.5 pounds. In March, it was observed flying strangely before landing. Later, a team of researchers recovered and analyzed it. Users such as @Truthpolex posted videos of the object's flight and landing on X, according to the New York Post. The sphere was examined by radiologist Dr. Jose Luis Velazquez, who noted that it comprised high-density components and had no obvious joints or welds.

Since there is no indication of welding and its internal structure is made up of high-density materials, it is artificially made.  In a video posted on X, Velazquez stated, "More testing is required to determine its origin." Runes and characters associated with Ogham and Mesopotamian scripts were among the ancient symbols that appeared to be engraved on the ball.  According to NYP, researchers used AI to decode a message they think talks about "birth, unity, and consciousness," and they understand it as a call for environmental awareness and group change.

The sphere also caused unusual reactions. David Velez el Potro, a member of the research team, told Maussan television that a local man who handled the sphere felt unwell for some days and also saw water vaporize instantly when poured on it.X-ray scans showed 18 small dots arranged inside the sphere. "It appears to be an object intentionally built to house these small metallic components internally," said Nacho Rojo, host of the Hidden Truth YouTube channel.

No formal scientific confirmation has been offered, despite the focus.  The university of San Diego physicist Julia Mossbridge told Fox news Digital, "It looks to me like a really cool art project."
