Fans can anticipate a brand-new dance performance starring the main cast when Peacemaker returns for its second season this August. The show's hilariously odd opening sequence was one of the most talked-about topics when it debuted back in 2022.  In an interview with EW, writer-director james Gunn, who has already disclosed that the credits will be redesigned for season 2, has now given us a better indication of what to anticipate.

Although he doesn't reveal too more, Gunn says that another song will take the place of Wig Wam's "Do Ya Wanna Taste It" and that the new scene would include additional characters, including christopher Smith's feathery companion.

"I'll tell you the inside scoop: You get to witness Eagly's first dance attempt.  That's rather something, then.  Even though he is not very good at it, he makes an effort to participate fully in the final dance routine.  This time, he's striking a little stance.

"We kind of had to because we killed everyone in the season.  Everyone perished.  Gunn continues.  "Also, we have a lot of new cast members — Tim Meadows is Langston Fleury, Sol Rodriguez is Sasha Bordeaux, and Michael Rooker's in the cast, Judomaster is a bigger character this time — so I knew that I needed to do a new dance."

He didn't aim to surpass the original titles sequence, Gunn explains.

"When something goes viral, I really wanted to do a fantastic job with the [new] dance sequence because I believe it has received 4 billion views on TikTok.  Since nobody anticipated the dance sequence, I'm not sure if it will ever surpass the first.  You simply cannot duplicate that; it was a total surprise.  Because there are so many more twists and turns in this season with what happens and what you learn about this universe, I believe that the surprises within the program itself repeat that numerous times.
