Disney's Lilo & Stitch has already made over $400 million globally in less than a week of release, breaking the record for the largest Memorial Day opening weekend ever with a huge $183 million start. With an estimated $15.3 million in box office receipts from 4,410 theaters on Tuesday, the most recent live-action version of The Mouse house has already made just under $200 million domestically.  By today's closing of business, the film will surpass the $400 million milestone, with its current global cume of $392.7 million.

"Lilo and Stitch tells the story of the bond formed between a lonely human girl named Lilo and a dog-like alien named Stitch, who is engineered to be a force of destruction," according to the summary of the new film.  Social workers, the pursuit of foreigners, and the notion of familial ties are all incorporated into the procedures.

In addition to Zach Galifianakis, Sydney Agudong, Billy Magnussen, Courtney B. Vance, and voice actors from original animated films Tia Carrere, Amy Hill, and Jason Scott Lee, Maia Kealoha, a newcomer, will play Lilo.  Stitch will once more be voiced by chris Sanders. Lilo & Stitch, directed by Dean Fleischer Camp (Marcel the Shell with Shoes On), is based on a script written by chris Kekaniokalani Bright, which was first drafted by Mike Van Wess.  The Rideback production brand is run by Dan Lin and Jonathan Eirich.
