Security forces on monday (May 2, 2025) launched a search operation near a forest area after suspicious activity was detected in the Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir. According to a report by news agency PTI, officials said the operation was launched after a civilian spotted three suspicious people in the Hiranagar area. He said a joint operation team is engaged in the search and vigilance has been increased on the highway including the entire area.

A similar search operation was also carried out last tuesday (27 May 2025), when the security forces received information about the movement of suspected terrorists. The security forces had carried out a search operation in the high-altitude areas of Kathua district.
