Three males have been taken into custody in relation to the gang rape of a law student on a college campus in Kasba, South Kolkata. Among them are two current students and a previous office-bearer for the Trinamool Chhatra Parishad (TMCP).
The woman's complaint-based FIR provides disturbing details about the torture she had through. According to the victim, the primary accused, 31-year-old Monojit Mishra, became furious when she turned down his proposal of marriage, claiming she was already seeing someone else. The enraged accused then allegedly confined her in a room, promised to have her parents imprisoned, and threatened to kill her and her boyfriend.
"He wouldn't let me go even after I touched his feet... According to india Today, which cited the victim's statement from the FIR, "They raped me, undressed me, and took me to the guard room by force."
According to the victim, the accused also recorded the attack and threatened to release the video if she didn't comply. The accused allegedly injured her with a hockey stick after she fought the sexual assault and tried to flee.
According to reports, the horrifying crime took place on the premises of South calcutta Law college on wednesday between 7:30 and 10:50 p.m.
Two suspects, Mishra and Ahmed, were arrested by police on thursday night at a traffic light in the Kasba district of south Kolkata. Their cell phones were seized while they were being held. Around 12:30 am on friday, the third suspect, Mukherjee, was taken into custody at his residence, and police also confiscated his cell phone.
The head of the bjp IT cell denounces the gang rape incident in Kolkata.
In response to the startling event, amit Malviya, the head of the BJP's Information technology Cell, said on friday that the trinamool congress government has turned West bengal into "a nightmare for women" and that "rape has become a routine tragedy."
In a post on X, Malviya made serious allegations, claiming, "Reports suggest college authorities were instructed to lock the gates while the crime was being committed!" He followed this with a pointed question: "College authorities were instructed to lock the gates while the crime was taking place?"
Launching a scathing attack on the ruling party, Malviya asserted, "This is not just a crime. This is a cover-up of the highest order. The TMC has become a party of rapists and their protectors."
The bjp leader vowed, "We will not allow political power to bury this crime. We will not let mamata Banerjee's regime silence the voice of justice. The bjp stands firmly with the victim, and we will fight relentlessly until justice is served."
