Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla, who created history by going to the international Space Station (ISS), met PM narendra modi on monday evening. Shubhanshu has returned to the country after almost a year. He trained in the US for about a year to go to the ISS. Group Captain prashant Balakrishnan Nair also returned to india with Shubhanshu, who was selected as a backup astronaut for the Axiom-4 mission. Shubhanshu is expected to meet prime minister Modi on monday and then go to his hometown, Lucknow. After this, he will return to the capital to participate in the celebrations of National Space Day on august 22-23.
The government has proposed a special discussion in the lok sabha on Monday. This discussion is being organized to mark Shubhanshu's return to India. The topic of discussion in the lok sabha is India's first astronaut on the international Space Station-Role of space program for developed India 2047.
