Tamil Nadu chief minister M.K. stalin has stated that the Dravidian Model government is a pioneer in prioritising agriculture and the welfare of farmers. Speaking at a public function, he emphasized that the state government has placed farmers and agricultural development at the centre of its governance model.
Referring to the policies and initiatives of the DMK government, stalin said that agriculture is not treated merely as a sector, but as a vital foundation of tamil Nadu’s economy and rural life. He noted that the government has consistently worked to ensure financial security, dignity, and long-term sustainability for farmers.
The chief minister highlighted several measures taken by the government, including increased financial assistance to farmers, timely crop compensation, expansion of irrigation facilities, free electricity for agriculture, and support for modern farming techniques. He said these initiatives reflect the government’s commitment to strengthening agriculture while addressing the real challenges faced by farmers.
Stalin further pointed out that the Dravidian Model government gives equal importance to both farmers and agricultural labourers. Schemes related to crop insurance, farm mechanisation, input subsidies, and relief during natural calamities were cited as examples of how the government responds quickly and responsibly to farmers’ needs.
He also stressed that prioritising agriculture does not stop with announcements alone, but requires effective implementation at the grassroots level. district administrations and agricultural departments, he said, have been instructed to work closely with farmers to ensure that benefits reach every eligible individual without delay.
Criticising past approaches, stalin remarked that some governments spoke about farmers only during election periods, whereas the Dravidian Model government works continuously for their welfare. He asserted that farmers are able to clearly see the difference between symbolic politics and action-based governance.
Political observers note that Stalin’s remarks reinforce the DMK’s core narrative of inclusive development and social justice. As agriculture continues to play a crucial role in tamil Nadu’s economy, the government’s farmer-focused policies are expected to remain a key pillar of its governance agenda.
The chief minister concluded by reaffirming that the Dravidian Model government will continue to give top priority to agriculture and farmers, ensuring sustainable growth, food security, and rural prosperity across the state.
