Tamil Nadu chief minister M.K. stalin inaugurated a large-scale agricultural exhibition and seminar in Tiruvannamalai, highlighting the state government’s continued focus on strengthening the farming sector and supporting farmers through innovation and knowledge-sharing.
The event brought together farmers, agricultural experts, scientists, officials, and representatives from various departments under one platform. The exhibition showcased modern farming equipment, advanced irrigation techniques, high-yield seed varieties, organic farming practices, and new technologies aimed at improving productivity and sustainability in agriculture.
Addressing the gathering, the chief minister emphasized the importance of adapting agriculture to changing climatic conditions and market demands. He said that the Dravidian Model government is committed to equipping farmers with the latest scientific knowledge, financial support, and infrastructure needed to increase income and ensure long-term agricultural growth.
The seminar sessions focused on key topics such as climate-resilient agriculture, water management, crop diversification, value addition, and government schemes available for farmers. Experts interacted directly with farmers, addressing their questions and offering practical guidance on improving yields and reducing input costs.
Stalin also highlighted various welfare measures and subsidies provided by the state government for farmers, including support for farm mechanization, irrigation projects, crop insurance, and relief during natural calamities. He urged farmers to make full use of government schemes and encouraged officials to ensure that information reaches even the smallest farmers.
The chief minister stated that exhibitions and seminars like these play a crucial role in bridging the gap between research institutions and farmers. By bringing technology and expertise directly to the grassroots, the government aims to empower farmers and make agriculture more profitable and sustainable.
The event in Tiruvannamalai was well attended by farmers from across the district and neighboring regions. Officials said similar agricultural exhibitions and awareness programs would be conducted in other parts of the state in the coming months as part of the government’s broader strategy to modernize agriculture.
