Mahindra & mahindra Ltd. (M&M Ltd.) has released its August 2025 sales report, revealing a mixed bag of performance. While domestic SUV sales dipped by 9% YoY, the company saw a strong rise in exports and other vehicle categories, helping maintain overall stability.

1. Total Sales: Flat Growth Amid Challenges

Overall sales (PV+CV): 75,901 units (including exports).

Performance marks flat growth compared to august 2024.

Despite SUV sales decline, mahindra managed to secure 4th place in the overall auto sales tally for august 2025.

2. SUV Sales See a 9% Dip

Domestic Utility Vehicle (SUV) sales: 39,399 units – a 9% YoY decline.

Including exports, the total reached 40,846 units.

Industry insiders attribute the drop to anticipated GST rate changes, leading to cautious dealer stocking.

3. Commercial Vehicle Segment Shows Resilience

Domestic CV sales stood at 22,427 units.

Growth in Vahan registrations for the <7.5T LCV category recorded 16% YoY rise, showcasing strong demand in small and medium commercial vehicles.

4. Three-Wheeler Segment Shines

Sales in august 2025: 10,527 units.

Up from 9,326 units in august 2024 – a 13% YoY increase.

Growing urban mobility demand and last-mile connectivity solutions are boosting this category.

5. Exports Jump by 16%

Mahindra exported 3,548 units in august 2025.

Up from 3,060 units last year – marking a 16% YoY growth.

The export surge highlights Mahindra’s strong international demand despite domestic fluctuations.

6. Strategic Inventory Management

CEO Nalinikanth Gollagunta stated:

"We consciously reduced wholesale billing to minimise dealer inventory before GST rationalisation. This move ensures readiness for festive demand post-GST announcements."

7. Key Highlights of LCV Sales
