Afghan Foreign minister Maulvi Amir Khan Muttaqi's Visit to agra Canceled

Visit Cancellation

Afghan Foreign minister Maulvi Amir Khan Muttaqi's scheduled visit to agra has been abruptly canceled, with no official reason provided by the authorities.

Original Schedule

Muttaqi was scheduled to arrive in agra on sunday morning, where he was to visit the taj mahal from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., spending around 90 minutes at the iconic monument.

Security Arrangements

In light of recent tensions following the saharanpur violence, local police and the administration had put in place extensive security measures, including a heavy police presence to ensure safety during the visit.

Meeting Plans

A Muslim delegation, led by Shahar Mufti Majeed Rumi, had requested a meeting with the Afghan Foreign minister, but the administration did not permit any meetings during the visit.

Previous Visits

Before arriving in agra, Muttaqi had visited Darul Uloom Deoband in saharanpur on Saturday. His trip to india marks the first visit by a senior Taliban minister to the country since the Taliban’s takeover of afghanistan four years ago.

Unclear Reason for Cancellation

While the administration confirmed the cancellation of the visit, no specific reason has been given for the sudden change in plans.
