BrahMos Missiles: India’s Strategic Milestone and Self-Reliance Boost


Historic Dispatch from lucknow Unit:


 The first batch of BrahMos supersonic cruise missiles was flagged off from the new BrahMos Aerospace integration and test facility in lucknow by Defence minister rajnath singh and Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath.


Significance for Defence Sector:


 This marks a major milestone for the Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor (UPDIC) and strengthens India’s goal of achieving self-reliance (Aatmanirbhar Bharat) in defence manufacturing.


State-of-the-Art Facility:

 The lucknow facility, inaugurated on May 11, has become fully operational and now handles the complete process from missile manufacturing to final testing—a first in the state.


Rajnath Singh’s Remarks:


 The Defence minister emphasized Uttar Pradesh’s growing role in India’s defence ecosystem. He noted that the swift dispatch of missiles just five months after inauguration demonstrates the nation’s technical prowess and operational readiness.


On pakistan and Strategic Capability:


 Rajnath Singh made a strong statement highlighting India’s deterrent capability, asserting that “every inch of pakistan is within BrahMos’ range” and referring to Operation Sindoor as “just a trailer,” symbolizing India’s military strength and readiness.


Symbol of National Confidence:


 Singh described BrahMos as the backbone of all three armed forces—Army, Navy, and air Force. He added that the missile system instills confidence among citizens, representing India’s growing military self-assurance.


Event Highlights:

 The Defence minister and chief minister witnessed the booster docking process and a presentation on the BrahMos simulator system. A tree-planting ceremony was also held, symbolizing growth and sustainability.


Economic and Employment Impact:


Director General (BrahMos) Dr. Jaytirth R. Joshi presented a check and GST bill to the chief minister, signifying revenue generation for the state. 


The new facility will create employment for highly skilled youth, foster investment, and drive technological innovation in Uttar Pradesh’s defence sector.
