
Shiv Sena UBT leader Slams Centre and bcci, Urges Them to Learn from Afghanistan
Incident in Afghanistan:
Eight people, including three Afghan cricketers, were killed in a Pakistani airstrike in Afghanistan’s border province of Paktika.
According to the afghanistan cricket Board (ACB), the players were traveling from Urgun to Sharana to participate in a friendly cricket match.
The victims were identified as Kabir, Sibghatullah, and Haroon, along with five others.
The acb condemned the strike, describing it as a cowardly attack by the Pakistani regime.
Afghanistan’s Response:
In protest against the attack, the afghanistan cricket Board withdrew from a triangular series that included Pakistan.
The move was praised internationally as a strong statement putting national integrity above sports diplomacy.
Shiv Sena UBT’s Reaction:
Priyanka Chaturvedi, Member of parliament and leader of shiv sena (UBT), reacted sharply to the incident.
She labeled the Pakistani regime as a group of cowards, accusing it of shedding innocent blood while failing on the battlefield.
Chaturvedi applauded Afghanistan’s decision to cancel its cricket engagement with Pakistan.
Call for india to Take a Stand:
In a social media post, Chaturvedi advised the indian government and the Board of Control for cricket in india (BCCI) to learn from Afghanistan.
She emphasized that national interest should come before sports, especially in dealing with Pakistan.
Her remarks are being viewed as a criticism of India’s recent decision to play against pakistan in the Asia Cup.
Context in India:
Following the pahalgam terrorist attack and Operation Sindoor, many political groups opposed sporting ties with Pakistan.
Despite opposition, the indian government allowed the Asia Cup fixture with pakistan, prompting renewed political debate.
