Indians need to wait at least 500 days to get a visa..!?

America is the dream country of crores of indians, for some, it is a bond of love, for some it is an angel that pours money, everyone has reasons to go to America. But all this is blocked by the waiting period for the visa interview. Many problems have arisen since the US government temporarily stopped issuing visas during the coronavirus epidemic. The main problem in this is the waiting period for the visa interview at the American embassy, and the American government is struggling to reduce it despite many efforts to reduce it. Currently, applicants have to wait at least 500 days to get a B1/B2 visa from India. Recently, according to the website of the Bureau of Consular Affairs of the United States, the interview waiting period for obtaining a B1/B2 visa is more than 500 days. The waiting time for a B1/B2 visa at the US Embassy in delhi is 542 calendar days, 539 days in Kolkata, 596 days in Mumbai, 531 days in chennai, and 511 days in Hyderabad. Who is more affected by this? It is noteworthy that the waiting period for a B1/B2 visa at the US Embassy in chennai was 680 days as of March. The B1 visa is a visa issued to individuals for business-related purposes in the United States, while the B2 visa is a visa issued for tourism purposes. This visa is used by indians to visit their families in the US, first for medical services. This waiting period is for those who do not qualify for US government interview waivers. Candidates below 14 years and above 80 years can apply under interview waivers. Similarly, those who have previously received a visa can apply under interview waivers when applying for a new visa if they have received clearance or department authorization. More importantly, applicants who have already obtained a visa can apply for visa renewal within 48 months after the expiry of the visa period, even if they apply under interview waivers. Due to the high waiting period and lack of staff at the American Embassy in India, the American government has given a special privilege to indians to apply for a visa from Bangkok. The US government has offered many incentives over the past few years, but the waiting period has not decreased.
