Adani Group has given a statement on the seizure of approximately 3,000 kg of heroin from Mundra port in Gujarat's kutch region. The firm maintained that it is simply the port administrator and did not possess the power to examine cargo reaching the port. When DRI, a law enforcement body within the Union Finance Ministry, discovered 2,988.21 kg of Afghan heroin hidden in two shipping boxes at the Mundra port on Sept 15, they acted quickly. APSEZ, the port division of the gautam Adani-led company, manages the port.

Officials assessed the shipment's value at 21,000 cr, based on the worldwide market value of each kilogramme of confiscated heroin, which they claimed was around 5-7 crore. According to reports, this is India's and maybe the world's greatest ever heroin seizure. The DRI searched Ahmedabad, Delhi,  Gandhidham, Chennai, & Mandvi in gujarat after the shipment was seized, & two people were detained as a result. According to the sources, the DRI is also looking into whether or not certain Afghan nationals were involved.

Meanwhile, according to official sources, the ED has allegedly begun an investigation into possible money laundering in connection with the recent discovery of roughly 3,000 kg of heroin from 2 containers from Gujarat's Mundra port. In accordance with PMLA regulations, a federal agency is examining the case's specifics and moving further, according to them. While investigating narcotics trafficking, the bureau also requested the complaint made by the DRI.
