Lumpy virus outbreak is wreaking havoc in the western states of India. In Punjab, Rajasthan, gujarat and maharashtra, thousands of cows have lost their lives due to the lumpy virus. Now the coalition government of maharashtra has announced that all the cows infected with the lumpy virus in the state will be treated free of cost. It has also been said that now a 'medicine bank' will also be created in all the districts. To protect the cows from the lumpy virus, the maharashtra government has ordered 50 lakh vaccines.


The Animal Husbandry minister of maharashtra has said, 'The government will bear the entire cost of the treatment of animals suffering from the lumpy virus in Maharashtra. Medicine banks will be made in all the districts and all the necessary medicines related to the lumpy virus will also be present there. In view of the havoc of the Lumpy virus, the maharashtra government is in action mode. Instructions have been given to the officers of all the districts that the work of vaccination for the lumpy virus should be done expeditiously.

Vaccination is happening fast

So far 43 animals have lost their lives in Maharashtra. More than two and a half thousand animals have been infected with the lumpy virus. A total of five and a half lakh animals have been vaccinated in the state so that they can be saved from the outbreak of the lumpy virus. There are 21 districts of maharashtra where Lumpy virus infection has been found in animals. The state government says that every effort is being made so that the animals can be saved from this.

The main symptoms of lumpy skin disease are fever in the animal, loss of weight, dripping of water from the eyes, salivation, rash on the body, giving less milk and loss of appetite. Apart from this, the body of animals also gets worse day by day. This is the reason that thousands of animals in many states have lost their lives due to the lumpy virus.
