What Your Rank Means
Your All‑India Rank (AIR) reflects how you performed relative to other candidates in the same paper. Generally:
- Higher marks usually mean better rank
- Rank plays an important role in college admissions and seat allotment
For example, scoring around 80–85 marks in GATE CSE typically results in a top 10–50 rank (this varies year to year).
