How do children think and learn?
Children learn through the play-way method in all the activities surrounded by them. There are different stages of development in childhood that determines different kinds of skills. Children strengthen their skills by the system just like constructors build a house by laying a foundation as a base. Kids naturally learn things by observing all around the atmosphere.
When dealing with children it is important to understand that children behave differently from adults. Kids usually start learning with their sense organs, it helps to build neural pathways. At the age of 2 and 7, language development takes place, they usually learn more words, use more complex sentences, and also start reading a little. At the time of 7 years, they used to think logically and try to make connections between objects.
Environment plays a major role in child development as it stimulates learning.
Tips to enhance their thinking ability:
- Ask them something which makes them think about what will happen next?
- Ask them where does this story takes place?
- How do you think that character is feeling?
- Ask your child basic questions as you read the story - Who, What, When, Where, and Why.
- Always encourage them when they come with questions.
