Sameer ji, when did you first feel interested in poetry?

When I came to sixth or seventh standard, I used to write something and tell it to my friends. If they had praised me, I would have been encouraged. When I came to college after finishing school, our troupe was formed there for the first time. Then, we formed an organization and started holding meetings on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. Means, you took the path of becoming a lyricist during your college days?

I have done B.Com from Banaras Hindu University. My father wanted me to become anything but not a lyricist. Maybe that's why he taught me commerce instead of literature. After my B.Com, I did M.Com. Dada Shivnath prasad ji used to work in the bank and was a great artist of Ramlila. There is no such character of Ramayana that he has not played. Art runs in the veins of our family. Our great-grandfather rajaram Shastri was a great scholar.
