After working as a janitor for Frito-Lay, richard Montanez (Jesse Garcia) learns a lot more than what his position allows, such as how to maintain the equipment that produces Cheetos. But, richard comes up with the idea for Flamin' Hot Cheetos with the assistance of his wife Judy (Annie Gonzalez) after years of financial difficulties that threaten to close the business. The biggest challenge he faces is getting the business to really consider his proposal and him in order to make changes that would not only benefit Montaez but also his family and employees.


It's unusual for a biopic to be amusing, but this one is. Instead of being continually dark or dramatic, the screenwriters give the movie room to breathe and have a spark of life. That is not to say that Flamin' Hot does not address some of the more sinister aspects of Montaez's past, but it also does not focus excessively on them. That's for the best in a movie that wears its heart on its sleeve, where the message is to never give up and always believe in oneself regardless of the people who try to tell you it's not worth it and to hold back from your flourishing ideas — in this case, Montaez's physically abusive father who later turned to God.


Flamin' Hot is a feel-good comedy that emphasises tenacity. As a result, it refrains from going any further with its exploration of Montaez. He seems to be the embodiment of the American Dream, which puts most of his life on hold (apart from the Flamin' Hot Cheetos) and puts his personal story on the back burner. But, not every biopic needs to start from zero or go into great depth about its subject's life. Flamin' Hot is perfectly aware of the kind of story it wants to present: an upbeat, underdog tale that, despite Montaez's struggles, is both endearing and hilarious.


From beginning to end, Flamin' Hot is engrossing. The audience will want to support Montaez at all costs. The fact that Montaez gives back to people who helped him through life's challenges shows that he is not a selfish person who just cares about himself and his aspirations. He is first and foremost a family man, and Flamin' Hot makes sure that they are never forgotten. The lesson being taught here is that without the support of friends, family, and the community, no one can accomplish anything. For this reason, Montaez's desire to advance is so significant since he is not only doing it for himself but also for others around him.
