There are many actors who are from village background have earned huge amount by acting in Kollywood cinemas and many were cheated also for the same. Few have written about Paravai Muniamma in the Social Websites and the news was also written in newspapers and many came forward to help her and even the Government helped her to lead her like.
Like Paravai Muniamma, there was an actress who was singing and acting in many movies during 80’s. She is none other than Kollangudi Karuppayi. She was introduced by actor Pandiyarajan in Aanpaavam. After that she has also acted in Aangalai Nambadhe, Kabadi Kabadi and Gopala Gopala and the State Government has honored her with the Kalaimamani award.
After that she didn’t get any chance to act in movies and presently she is residing at her native Kollangudi which is near Madurai. She lives in poverty and no one is there to support her. She is leading her life with just Rs.1, 500 per month, which is given by the Government for the under privileged people.
Earlier she was working in farm lands and presently she is unable to work as she is 80 years old. She is safeguarded by Government’s Ration shop, Government hospitals and Government’s amount of Rs. 1,500. She has sung many songs and her songs are heard every now and then and the revenue is enjoyed by some unknown person.
