Maharshi Desai,  Amit Mistry's manager announced his death. “I, too, am completely taken aback. He was fine and was just at home. He made no mention of any health problems. He felt an ache in his heart after breakfast, which turned out to be a heart attack, and his family was unable to take him to the hospital.

It is a significant setback for the film industry.“Losing an actor like him is a huge loss for the entertainment industry, and I would miss working with him,” maharshi says. Friends and well-wishers began writing on social media about his unexpected passing and their shock. Friends who recently spoke with him say he "sounded absolutely good when we last spoke to him."

“I spoke to him about 10 days ago and he was safe and happy,” says producer Mahir Khan, who worked with him on shows like Dafa 420 and Savdhaan India. He asked as to whether I had any plans to work on anything and when we would be collaborating. He, too, wanted to meet as soon as possible. His death came as a shock and was heartbreaking. He was a dynamo of creativity and vigour. I never saw him complain, no matter how many long hours we were shooting. He was dedicated to his job and very honest about it. He was not only a talented actor but also a gem of a person who was always willing to lend a helping hand. I'm going to miss him terribly.' Mahir says.
