Dwayne Johnson retracts his endorsement of Joe Rogan. Following Rogan's response video to the continuing Spotify dispute, the 49-year-old actor and wrestler previously stated his support for him. Rogan has faced a barrage of criticism in recent weeks, with claims that his podcast spreads COVID-19 disinformation and supports young people to stay away from getting the vaccine.

After artists like Neil Young and Jon Mitchell demanded that Spotify remove their songs, accusing the corporation of giving a forum for disinformation, the vocal podcaster apologised. Their indignation came after the company's policy on misinformation was questioned in an open letter signed by 270 healthcare professionals. They also brought up an edition of The Joe Rogan Show in which Rogan interviewed discredited anti-vaxxer Robert Malone.

Though he pledged to "try harder" in an instagram post, gaining acclaim from stars like Johnson, a video montage has already began to circulate online, revealing Rogan's frequent usage of the N-word and sparking criticism from those who praised him. Johnson now appears to have backpedalled on his early appreciation for Rogan in a twitter reaction. Johnson claimed he was unaware of Rogan's previous usage of racist insults when questioned by crime novelist Don Winslow. The Jungle Cruise star expressed gratitude to Winslow for teaching him about Rogan's "whole narrative," calling it a "teaching moment."
