Actor kamal haasan stated that fans had a big obligation to make it a point to label good films as such and terrible films as such. "During those days, while seeking a chance, I would carry a photo album with my pictures from the film '16 Vayadhinile,'" said kamal haasan at the audio launch ceremony for filmmaker Prabhu Solomon's "Sembi," which stars kovai sarala and Ashwin in the eponymous roles.

"I would continue to show it to people while announcing that I was the movie's hero. Some people could have wise things to say. Others would make statements such, "Don't you feel guilty holding a book where you have a photograph of yourself in a loincloth?" When one of the speakers here complimented me on attending the audio releases of both big-budget and independent films, I was reminded of all those remarks." He stated, "One cannot determine from here which is a large film or a small film, and he pointed to the audience, saying, "They are the ones who determine."

"A significant film is one that people remember, such as "16 Vayathinile," nearly 40 years after it was produced. Sometimes we have trouble recalling the title of a movie, asking, "What was that movie that cost so many crores?" That movie is short, "He clarified. After watching "Sembi," kamal haasan said that it was a good movie.

The actor then addressed the audience, saying, "As fans, you too have a great responsibility and duty, you must call good films good and bad films bad. You must do that boldly and honestly. Our silence is the biggest danger. When you don't question people committing mistakes as to why they are doing so, the mistakes will continue. This film says that and that is why I like this film. It reminds us all that we have a duty."
