Netflix, a major OTT provider, had been working very hard to get into the indian OTT market. In comparison to other nations, the OTT juggernaut has reduced membership costs in India. Now that it has been implemented in the USA, Netflix has saved indian subscribers from the password-sharing price increase. Passwords for Netflix cannot be shared by subscribers who have an active membership with anybody outside of their homes. The account may now be banned for sharing the password.

A customer who already has a membership in effect and wants to add more users must pay an extra $7.99 per month for each new user. Netflix will use IP mapping to ascertain how the Netflix accounts are being used. As previously noted, unauthorized use will result in account suspension. The good news for indians is that Netflix hasn't yet imposed this restriction there. indian users can currently share their passwords. Will Netflix soon impose restrictions and outlaw the practice in india as well? We'll watch and wait.

More than 100 million homes have multiple accounts with Netflix, according to a statement from the company earlier this year, which "impacts our ability to invest in great new tv and films." In a few areas, Netflix has experimented with "borrower" or "shared" accounts, in which customers can add additional users for a fee or move watching histories to different accounts. It said on tuesday that it was extending the policy to more than 100 nations.
