It’s been a year since Kantara was released but it continues to get laurels for its cinematic phenomenon which came out from the realms of kannada cinema. The film was written, directed and headlined by Rishab Shetty. The spine-chilling music was scored by music director B Ajaneesh Loknath.

The music director on tuesday shared that music maestro AR rahman has praised the music composer for his work in the film. Ajanesh shared a screenshot of the video chat on X (formerly known as Twitter) where he can be seen having a chat with Rishab Shetty, music composer vijay prakash and AR Rahman.

In the long tweet, Ajaneesh shared that as a musician he had always looked up to AR rahman as his inspiration and listening to him talk about his work was the best thing for him. “This Deepavali couldn’t be any better. So glad to speak to AR rahman sir, yesterday after he watched Kantara. As a musician I have always looked up to him as an inspiration, to hear him speak about my work is music to my ears. Forever grateful to vijay prakash for making this happen. Kantara is a gift that keeps on giving all thanks to vijay kiragandur sir, Rishab Shetty and Homable Films. Happy Deepavali indeed,” he wrote in the tweet.

Kantara was produced by vijay kiragandur under Homable Films. The storyline of the film is based on Kambala Champion, who comes to loggerheads with an upright DRFO officer, Murali (Kishore). The film has placed the kannada Entertainment industry on the global map as it earned around Rs 450 crore worldwide.
