The first trailer for 'Despicable Me 4' has been released, reintroducing the iconic characters of Gru, Lucy, the girls and the minions. The animated comedy, planned to be released on July 3, 2024, is the newest installment in Universal and Illumination's tremendously successful franchise. The sitcom chronicles the exploits of Gru (voiced by Steve Carrell), a former supervillain who became a decent person and discovered his actual family.

Kristen Wiig, Miranda Cosgrove, Steve Coogan, chris Renaud, Dana Gaier, and Pierre Coffin reprise their roles from prior films. The fourth movie brings some fresh faces to the mix, voiced by Will Ferrell, Joey King, Sofia Vergara, stephen Colbert, Chloe Fineman and Madison Polan. Ferrell portrays Maxime Le Mal, Gru's new enemy who wants to take over the world. Vergara is Valentina, Maxime's stunning and deadly girlfriend. The narrative also includes Gru and Lucy's new newborn kid, Gru Jr.

The 'Despicable Me' trilogy has been a global hit since its debut in 2010. The third film, released in 2017, grossed more than $1 billion at the box office, surpassing the 'Shrek' series as the highest-grossing animated film franchise in history. The Minions, the yellow, gibberish-speaking critters who help Gru with his schemes, contribute much to the attraction. The Minions have become contemporary cultural icons, appearing in their own spinoff films 'Minions' and 'Minions: The Rise of Gru.'
