Suniel Shetty reveals that his daughter athiya shetty has quit Bollywood. The actress, now a mother, is focused on her family life with cricketer KL rahul and their newborn daughter, Evaarah.
Suniel Shetty recently revealed that his daughter, athiya shetty, has decided to step away from the film industry. In a candid interview with Zoom, the veteran actor shared that Athiya, who has acted in just three films, has made a conscious choice to quit acting.
“She said, ‘Baba, I don’t want to,’ and she just left. And that’s what I salute her for—saying, ‘I’m not interested. I don’t want to do films.’ After Motichoor Chaknachoor, a lot came her way. But she said, ‘I don’t want to. I am comfortable, you know?’” Suniel revealed.
He further expressed his pride in his 32-year-old daughter, saying she is now playing the most important role of her life—motherhood. “And today, she’s got the best role of her life. You know, she’s working in the best film, and that is the life, the role of a mother—and she’s loving it,” he added.
Athiya Shetty’s Bollywood Journey
Athiya Shetty made her acting debut in 2015 with the romantic action film Hero, directed by Nikhil Advani and produced by salman Khan. She returned to the screen two years later in Anees Bazmee’s comedy Mubarakan, alongside Anil Kapoor, arjun Kapoor, and Ileana D'Cruz. Her last film appearance was in 2019 opposite nawazuddin siddiqui in Motichoor Chaknachoor.
A New Chapter: Family Life
Since then, Athiya has remained in the spotlight for her personal life. She married indian cricketer KL rahul in 2023. The couple welcomed their daughter on march 24, 2025. Recently, KL rahul shared an unseen photo of himself and Athiya with their newborn, revealing her name—Evaarah, which means “Gift of God.”
