
The Attack
Earlier this year, Saif Ali Khan was attacked at his mumbai home.
The incident occurred in the early hours of january 16th.
The intruder, Mohammad Shariful islam Shahzad, broke in after midnight.
He attacked Saif with a knife in the presence of his children, Taimur and Jeh.
Saif sustained injuries during the struggle but narrowly escaped a fatal outcome.
The attacker also targeted Saif’s staff members using a wooden weapon and a blade.
Shahzad was later arrested and accused of attempted robbery and assault.
Saif’s Reaction During the Attack
In a conversation with Esquire India, Saif described the terrifying experience.
He said, “It’s a strange feeling to realize how lucky we are because (the knife attack) was so close. And to escape without any injuries is nothing short of a miracle.”
He recalled lying on the ground, feeling his whole life flash before his eyes.
Saif reflected on his blessings—travels, family moments, and cherished memories.
He emphasized gratitude, noting that life is valuable beyond just wealth.
Lessons Learned
In an earlier interview with ETimes, Saif shared safety lessons.
He said, “My lesson is that you should keep the doors closed and be careful.”
He highlighted the importance of:
Securing homes,
Locking doors,
Blocking access points,
Strengthening security.
On Increasing Security
Saif admitted he never believed in having constant security.
After the incident, he decided to increase protection around his home.
He remarked, “It’s sad. I don’t like people around me, but at least they should be there for a while.”
The actor also reflected on his future, saying it wasn’t his time to go yet.
He hopes to:
Make more good films,
Spend more quality time with loved ones,
Contribute to charity.
