Lakshmi Rai is the latest to join a long list of actresses who have opted for a name change. The actress has now changed her name to Raai Laxmi from Lakshmi Rai.The actress herself has confirmed that henceforth she should be called as Raai Lakshmi. She terms it as the shifting of name rather than calling it a name change and she has added an extra ‘a’ to Rai since it will be her first name.
Stating that no one has ever called her Lakshmi as she is either referred to as Raai at home and Lakshmi Rai by others, the actress said that she has been contemplating on the name change for quite some time and has decided this is the right moment to do.The actress confirms that all her upcoming and future films will credit her as Raai Lakshmi.
Lakshmi Rai appeared opposite to Bala Krishna in Adhinayakudu and she sizzled in Balupu with Ravi Teja. In spite of acting with top actors, Lakshmi Rai is yet to taste commercial success in Tollywood. Currently, Lakshmi Rai has signed 3 Malayalam, 1 Telugu and 2 Tamil films.
Earlier a top starlet like Tamanna to depended on Numerology and changed her name to 'Tamannah' from 'Tamanna' to score a hit. She is being followed by sexy Hyderabad lady Poonam Kaur who changed her name to 'Puunam Khaur' to fetch luck. Let us hope that this new name will change her fortunes.
