Hyderabad sources have stated that after challenging the AP government's decision to withdraw criminal cases against its Ministers, MLAs, and MLCs, YSRCP MLA from Mangalagiri Alla Ramakrishna Reddy on Monday filed a petition in the Hyderabad High Court. Meanwhile, the YSRCP MLA contended that withdrawal of cases through a Government Order (GO) is against the law and Indian Constitution.

According to sources, the state government has issued a GO lifting various criminal cases and prosecution against 278 TDP leaders, including the AP Assembly Speaker Kodela Siva Prasada Rao, Ministers K. Atchen Naidu, Ganta Srinivasa Rao and several TDP bigwigs. Meanwhile Ramakrishna Reddy appealed to the Court to cancel the GO issued by the state government. The Court would hear the petition on August 8.


Further, some cases pertained to Samaikya Andhra movement, the TDP government also ordered withdrawing serious cases involving election offences and other illegal activities against the TDP leaders and several others were facing criminal charges that were withdrawn by the Home Department.
