Under the "Ambedkar Overseas education Fund Scheme" in the previous telugu Desam government, financial assistance of Rs. 15 lakh was provided to sc and st students to pursue higher studies like PG, PhD, MBBS in 15 countries. Also, under the "NTR Vaisey Vidyadarana" scheme, financial assistance of Rs.15 lakhs for bc and minority students, Rs.10 lakhs for EBC and Kapu students has been provided. In this way, during the five-year tenure of Telugudesam, a total of 4528 students received financial assistance of Rs. 377.7 crores for foreign education.
