In november of last year, the Times of india claimed that an intoxicated guy exposed himself and peed on a female passenger on an air india trip from New York to Delhi. Despite the woman's protest, the flight employees allegedly did nothing to the male passenger. The woman, who is in her seventies, wrote to Tata Group chairman N Chandrasekaran, according to the story, which cites sources. Only then did air india launch an investigation. The woman described in her letter the terrifying encounter she experienced on november 26 while in the air.

She claimed that the incident happened shortly after the flight's lunch service and after the lights were turned out. She reported that the inebriated man approached her seat. The woman wrote in the letter obtained by the Times of india, "He unzipped his pants, discharged himself, and continued to expose me to his private parts." She claimed that the man didn't get up from her seat until another passenger urged him to. She claimed that after reporting the event to the crew right away, one of them went to her seat and "confirmed that it smelled like pee" before spraying disinfectant on her luggage and shoes.

According to the report, the elderly passenger refused to go back to her stench- and soiled-filled seat for about 20 minutes, so she changed into a set of pyjamas and disposable shoes that the crew provided for her. Before being requested to move back to her own seat, she spent an hour sitting on the cramped crew seat. Later, she was transferred to another crew seat to finish the flight. According to the report, the woman discovered that several of the first class seats on the trip were empty from a fellow traveller.
