Most Polluted cities are from india only..!?

Information that more than half of the world's top 100 most polluted cities are in india adds to the concerns. 65 indian cities feature in the top 100 list in an air pollution survey conducted on 7300 cities internationally. swiss company IQAir's latest pollution ranking for 2022 is out. 131 countries were taken into account in this study which shows that india is among the top 10 countries with the highest air pollution in the world. Out of 7,300 cities, 65 of the top 100 most polluted cities are in India.

Below is the list of the 10 most polluted cities in India.

Bhiwadi, Rajasthan
PM2.5 - 92.7 μg/m³

The city is the second most polluted in the Central and South Asian region overall. Its PM2.5 (particulate matter 2.5) levels were 18.5 times higher than recommended by the World health Organization (WHO). According to WHO guidelines, annual average concentrations should not exceed 5 µg/m3.

Delhi, India
PM2.5: 92.6 μg/m³

The city is the third most polluted in the Central and South Asian region overall. Slightly lower than Bhiwadi, but even Delhi's PM2.5 levels were 18.5 times higher than WHO recommended.
Darbhanga, BiharPM2.5 - 90.3 μg/m³

Bihar's Darbhanga city ranks as the fifth most air-polluted city in the Central and South Asian region overall. Its PM2.5 levels were about 18 times higher than WHO recommendations.

About 60 percent of indian cities included in the report recorded annual PM2.5 levels at least seven times higher than the World health Organization's recommendations.

Azopur, Bihar
PM2.5 - 90.2 μg/m³

Bihar's Azopur city ranks sixth on the list of most polluted in the region as a whole. Its PM2.5 levels were 18 times higher than WHO recommendations.
 Patna, BiharPM2.5 - 88.9 μg/m³

 In the region overall, patna city is the seventh most polluted. Its PM2.5 levels are 17.7 times higher than WHO recommendations.

 In Central and South Asia, india has 12 of the 15 most polluted cities. The region includes Bangladesh, india, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.

Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh
PM2.5 - 88.6 μg/m³

Ghaziabad is one of the eight most polluted cities in the region overall. Its PM2.5 levels were 17.72 times higher than WHO recommendations.

Taruhera, Haryana
PM2.5 - 87.8 μg/m³

The city is the ninth most polluted in the region overall. Its PM2.5 levels were 18 times higher than WHO recommendations.

Chapra, Bihar

PM2.5 - 85.9 μg/m³

The city is the tenth most polluted in the Central and South Asian region as a whole. Its PM2.5 levels were about 17.18 times higher than the recommended level.

Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh
PM2.5 - 85.5 μg/m³

The city is the eleventh most polluted in the region overall. Its PM2.5 levels were 17.1 times higher than WHO recommendations.

Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh
PM2.5 - 83.2 μg/m³

The city of Greater Noida, located near India's capital city of New Delhi, ranks 13th overall in the Central and South Asian region. Its PM2.5 levels are 16.64 times higher than WHO recommendations.
