Telangana CM KCR is known for his powerful decisions to crush the opposition. KCR is extremely spiritual and recently made offerings worth crores at various temples to fulfil his vows he made at these temples before the formation of Telangana. This kicked up a huge storm with opposition parties questioning KCR spending public money to fulfil his personal vows.
Now KCR created another controversy when he skipped Sri Ram Navami celebrations at Bhadrachalam. It is a tradition that any Chief Minister to present pattu vastralu (silk clothes) to the Lord at Bhadrachalam. While everyone expected KCR to present them, in a shocker his grand son Himanshu did the same.
BJP which has been gunning for KCR and TRS government for its anti Hindu stand eversince it planned reservations to muslims, turned furious and said KCR insulted Hindu sentiments and Lord Ram.
BJP spokesman Krishna Saagar Rao asked “KCR did not keep up the tradition and practice of presenting clothes to Lord Sri Rama on Sri Rama Navami in Bhadrachalam. How is his grandson a state representative? Is it not belittling the honour extended to Lord Sri Rama on this auspicious occasion?”
Sources say KCR missed the festival celebrations at Bhadrachalam,as he was unwell. Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari and endowments minister A. Indrakaran Reddy presented the traditional pattu vastralu on behalf of the government.
