amaravati sources stated that six members of the family of a leader of the ruling party in andhra pradesh have tested positive for the novel coronavirus. The total number of confirmed cases in the state is now 1,097. A total of 81 of these cases were reported on Sunday.
The political leader in question is ysrcp Member of parliament (MP) Dr sanjeev Kumar. According to inputs, Dr Kumar's father, brother and four of their family members tested positive for Covid-19 on april 26. They are now undergoing treatment for the infection at the kurnool government General Hospital. The mp from kurnool, Dr sanjeev kumar is an urologist along with his wife who is also a doctor.
As per report on sunday, four staffers of the andhra pradesh raj bhavan also tested positive for Covid-19. A chief security officer and a nursing staff employed by the raj bhavan are among those found infected. It was on april 25 that the number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in andhra pradesh surged past 1,000. The state now has over 1,097 confirmed cases of Covid-19. This figure includes 231 recoveries and 31 casualties.
