The fisheries department is preparing to release 1.94 crore fish seedlings across 703 ponds and reservoirs in the district in august as a result of the State government's commitment to promoting caste-based occupations and encouraging economic empowerment within the neighbourhood fishermen community. In order to give fishermen work chances, the State government started distributing free fish seedlings and juvenile prawns to water bodies in 2017–18 on a 100% grant.
The procedure for requesting bids for the choice of the suppliers of the fishlings has already started in order to simplify this endeavour. The district's fishermen made Rs. 75.52 crore last year, according to naresh Kumar Naidu, the district's fisheries officer, who spoke to india Herald. Fisheries authorities disperse these fish seeds into ponds and reservoirs during the monsoon season. Notably, the Rayaparthi Mandal neighbourhood of Mylaram in the warangal district is home to one reservoir, nine significant water bodies, and a whopping 693 ponds.

Forty-two women's organisations, comprising about 182 fisherman cooperative groups, actively take part in selling the fish to make money. There are 14,350 fishermen in the area, 3,400 of them are female. The government makes sure that fish seeds are distributed into these bodies of water by taking advantage of the yearly monsoon water influx into tanks and reservoirs. The dispersal of fish seeds is expected to take place in August. The discharge of about 1.91 billion fish seeds, with an estimated value of Rs. 1.30 crore, last year led to a total capture of 9,420 metric tonnes of fish. The fishermen earned an astounding Rs. 75.52 crore last year since the market price per kilogramme of fish was Rs. 80.

According to naresh Kumar, the State administration set a goal for this year of dispersing 1.94 crore fish seeds across 703 ponds and reservoirs. He said that they were also thinking of releasing prawn seeds into the Mylaram reservoir. "Upon winning the bid, contractors will be responsible for supplying fish seeds to the designated water bodies from august on, with the government providing the necessary funding," he said.
