The Outer Ring Road (ORR), which spans 158 km, now has a maximum speed restriction of 120 kilometres per hour (kmph), up from the previous limit of 100 kilometres per hour. The ORR is a motorway with eight lanes with access controls, four lanes on each side. The maximum speed limit had previously been set at 80 kmph for the third and fourth lanes and 100 kmph for the first two lanes. The first two lanes' speed limit has recently been changed from 100 kph to 120 kph.

"From the current restriction of 100 kmph, the maximum speed limit on ORR is increased to a maximum of 120 kmph. minister K T Rama Rao examined the plans in a meeting that was conducted today, and he gave hmda instructions to make sure that all safety precautions were in place, according to Special Chief Secretary for Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD), Arvind Kumar, on social media.

A division of hmda called hyderabad Growth Corridor Limited (HGCL) routinely sends out notifications to commuters advising them to observe speed limits and lane regulations to prevent accidents on ORR.
