allahabad high court stayed the survey for 1 day..!?

The allahabad high court has put a stay of 1 day on the knowledge case. At the same time, the ASI has given an affidavit in the court saying that they will complete the survey without causing any damage to the structure. Advocate vishnu Shankar Jain, appearing for the Hindu side, said that the Additional director of ASI has given an affidavit stating that the survey will be completed without any damage to the existing structure during the survey. The allahabad high court heard the case on wednesday afternoon. The Muslim side has objected to the survey of the Gyanavapi Masjid. When the survey was launched last monday, the Muslim party filed a petition in the supreme Court. The supreme court heard the petition of the Muslim side and ordered them to go to allahabad along with stopping the survey for 2 days. Puneet Gupta, counsel for the Sunni Central Waqf Board, said the court could not allow the production of evidence. After hearing the arguments of both parties, the court summoned the ASI officer and questioned him several times.

The district court of varanasi last friday ordered that the survey be completed using techniques like ground penetrating radar if necessary. The ASI had started the search on monday morning only on the orders of the court. Meanwhile, the supreme court stayed the survey and the team had to stop the survey. The supreme court in its order had stayed the survey till 5 pm on wednesday but now the high court has extended the stay by one more day. Now the Anjuman Intjamia Masjid Committee, which manages the mosque, has time to appeal against the court's order.
